Common questions
How does Meta charge for WhatsApp messages?
Meta charges per delivered message. The rate depends on the recipient’s market and the message category — authentication, utility, marketing or service — not on where your business is based.
What are volume tiers, and how do they work?
Rates fall as monthly volume rises, and the tiers are graduated like tax brackets: the volume inside each band is charged at that band’s rate. Sending 270,000 utility messages in Egypt is not 270,000 at the second-tier rate — it is the first 100,000 at the first rate, then the remainder at the second.
Are service messages free?
On Meta’s current rate card, yes — replies inside an open 24-hour customer service window are not charged. Meta has announced changes to how service and in-window utility messages are billed, so this page reads the live rate for each category rather than assuming one.
Is this an official Meta quote?
No. It is an indicative estimate built from Meta’s published rate card. Final billing follows Meta’s own delivered-message charges on your account.
